Why is pancreas called mixed gland?

# The Pancreas gland is called mixed gland, why? 

-->Pancreas is called mixed gland(I.e both

 endocrine and exocrine gland) because it

 produces both hormones and enzymes from

 its islets of langerhans(endocrine) part and 

 pancreatic cells or acini(exocrine) part

 respectively. Hormones like :-Insulin,

 Glucagon and enzymes like:-pancreatic

 amylase, protease, pancreatic lipase, etc are

 produced by pancreas.
